Hoopmixtape: Sick Missed Dunk By Lakeem Jackson

March 4, 2009

Here is 6’6 Lakeem Jackson trying to go up on some poor kid in NCISAA Tournament action in Charlotte, North Carolina. Christ School would go on to win the state title.

Man this would have been nasty. Would have been one of the best dunks I have seen on Hoopmixtape in a while. Props to Nils at Hoopmixtape.com

Supra Vaider High Blue/Silver

March 4, 2009

A dope new colorup of the Supra Vaider has arrived at retailers like Zappos.
The Vaider may not have the following that it’s sibling the Skytop has, but if colorways like this continue, you can bet there will be plenty of heads looking just as hard for the next Vaider release. The royal blue colorway is off the hook, and the silver accents only push it to another level. Especially at the price of $116.
Props to NiceKicks

I remember I was in 5th grade when these came out. I wanted them so bad but my mom had just bought me the 96 Olympic Penny’s. My best friend had them and for one day we switched shoes and he let me wear his Questions. I was walking around in them and acting like I was Iverson. Today I own several pair but remakes are nothing like the original. I gotta get my hands on a original pair of Questions.

When we broke the news of the “KryptoNate” Nike Foamposite Lite, and showed you our recap of All-Star Weekend a lot of you were wondering about the other pair of kicks that Nate Robinson was wearing for the first part of the Slam Dunk Contest. Despite being out shined by the more radioactive colorway of the night, these are smokin’ kicks.

Drake Vibe Interview

March 4, 2009

drakevibeq

Between Thursday, February 12 and Friday, February 13, 2,541 comments were added to Aubrey “Drake” Graham’s blog, octobersveryown.blogspot.com. Remarks that were asking, nay relentlessly demanding what many had spent months waiting on—his new mixtape.

For an independent release, the 22-year-old’s third effort, So Far Gone, gained a level of anticipation that would make some label-hugging rappers blush. But even with a co-sign from Lil Wayne, an established television fan-base, and an online presence intense enough to freeze a PC, Drake isn’t daunted. The ex-Degrassi star won’t give you flashing lights or fragile facades, he’d rather just gift the truth. And with eighteen tracks bulging with sincerity and depth, Drake is indeed one of hip hop’s best wrapped presents. Currently in the process of sealing an un-disclosed label deal—noting that it will be finalized in the next two weeks—the Toronto native shares with VIBE.com his struggles, triumphs, and why honesty is his best policy.

Kidz In The Hall – I Got it Made: Behind The Scenes (Video)

March 4, 2009

“At a secret loft location in Soho, rap duo Kidz in the Hall took to Soho to shoot the music video for their remake of Special Ed’s “I Got It Made.” The video, directed by Justin Francis, was shot as part of the Reebok Classic Remix Footwear campaign, where Kidz in the Hall and select others designed their own pair of kicks set to drop at a Foot Locker near you on March 10 (as part of your purchase, you’ll also get an exclusive copy of the song). Kiwibox went behind the scenes at the video to give you a sneak peek of what you can expect to see when the clip drops later this month!”
